Lincoln students wore crazy socks to school on March 20 to commemorate World Down Syndrome Day and to promote awareness and tolerance of individuals with disabilities as part of #LotsOfSocks Day.
This is the second consecutive year that Lincoln has been a part of this event that is designed to create awareness and acceptance of those with disabilities.
In addition to the fun element of wearing crazy socks to school, teachers also led the students through activities such as drawing, reading a story or watching a short video dealing with disabilities, to facilitate a positive discussion among the students about the importance of respecting and accepting those with disabilities.
